Looking for a healthy holiday drink without alcohol?
To be honest, it’s been almost a year since I drank any alcohol. I’ve never really been a huge fan, feeling sick after even a very small amount, and always having a terrible headache the next day.
So for me, it was a fairly easy decision to not really drink anymore. But sometimes I do want something comparable, so I don’t feel left out.
As we all know, 2020 is literally a few days away, and I know so many of you will be looking for drink recipes to ring in the new year.
So if you’re looking to celebrate without alcohol, or you want something your kids can enjoy along side, then this orange pomegranate mocktail is perfect!
It’s basically a fizzy, healthier soda recipe without any refined sugar. Doesn’t that sound great?!
A delicious and refreshing holiday drink!
It’s really a very simple recipe. All you really need are a sparkling water or seltzer of your choice. You can use plain or flavored, either works great. I really like peach and orange flavored sparkling waters here, but you can really flavor it any way you like.
You’ll need two cans of sparkling water of your choice (or one for each person, if making for more than two people), pomegranate juice and orange juice. I definitely recommend as fresh as possible, especially for the orange juice.
Simply pour the sparkling water into a glass and add in the pomegranate juice and orange juice. Stir (don’t shake!) and serve on ice, or chill in the fridge until ready to serve.
Can I add alcohol to this, if I chose to?
Yes, you certainly can! I would add one shot of your favorite liquor. Vodka likely works best, but feel free to customize however you like!
Can I make this ahead and store it in the fridge?
You can do that, but I don’t recommend making it too far ahead, or the sparkling water will lose it’s carbonation. If you do make it ahead, I recommend storing it in an air-tight container so it maintains the fizz.
